The “Ambassador of the Year” category honors people who carry the reputation of this event all over the world. James Glickenhaus is the perfect choice – he embodies what makes this race a legend. The American is a director, screenwriter, producer and investment manager. His first Ferrari was purchased by Glickenhaus in 1999 and has since been considered Ferrari-obsessed.”
He put a lot of money and enthusiasm into the collection, restoration and perfection of fast and rare vehicles. In collaboration with Pininfarina, he built the most expensive Ferrari ever, with a total value of around 3 million euros. From the construction of this unique piece, a separate manufactory for exclusive sports cars developed. And where can such cars be tested better than on the longest track in the world – the Nürburgring Nordschleife?
There are many people who are automotive enthusiasts. There are many motorsport enthusiasts. But there are only very few people who both live as convincingly as James Glickenhaus.
“Many companies say that they produce sports cars. I do not know exactly what you mean by that.” Says Jim Glickenhaus.
“We build a car with which you can drive to the Nürburgring, where it turns a 6:33 lap and with which you then go home. That’s a real sports car for me, ”
We will all be able to look forward to this ambassador and his great vehicles, his spirit and his enthusiasm in the future as well.
